Surface treatment
Metallised Mirrors
The coating of thin films by vacuum metallization gives our products an exceptional durability. Moreover, the metallized mirrors respect the environment.
- Chrome first surface automotive rear
view mirror
Metallic, reflective film coating on the front
surface of the glass. Level of reflection
65 %, neutral colour
- Chrome second surface automotive rear
view mirror
standard chrome reflective layer on the rear
face of the glass in order to increase the
resistance to the corrosion. Level of reflection
50 %, neutral colour. A paint coating on the
back of the mirror gives an added protection
against scratching during the assembly of
the mirror in its casing.
- ChromaSoft
:Chrome second surface automotive
rear view mirror
Specific chrome-based reflective layer on
the rear face of the mirror. Level of reflection
45 %. Grey colour, designed to match the colorimetry
of the electrochromic mirrors. This coating
consistently reduces the reflection from all
light sources, including the light beams from
xenon headlights. A paint coating gives an
extra protection against scratching.
- Interferential front surface or second
surface automotive rear view mirror
The anti-dazzle reflective coating. Blue colour.
The reflective coating is selective in the
light spectrum and specifically reduces the
reflection from the conventional headlights.
Silvered automotive rear view mirrors
The classical second surface mirror
coating. The silver and the copper layers are
protected by two paint coatings. Minimum level
of reflection 90%.
NOTE : following the EU Directive 2000/53/EC,
no lead (absolutely 0 %) is permitted in the
composition of the automotive silvered mirrors
for new vehicles commercialised after the 1st
of July 2005.
Curvature Radii
Spherical automotive
rear view mirrors
The convex spherical mirrors have the
advantage of widening the field of vision in
order to improve the safety. Several standard
curvature radii curvatures are available: 215
mm, 315 mm, 420 mm, 1350 mm, 1800 mm, 2150 mm,
3800 mm.
Aspherical automotive rear view mirrors
As well as increasing the field of vision, aspherical mirrors eliminate the blind spot thanks to the “wide angle” section. Two curvature radii:
- Aspherical Radius 1350 mm
- Aspherical Radius 2000 mm
Finishing
Several combination finishings to choose from:
- First surface or second surface arrised, both sides arrised
- Ground edges
- Laser etching ( “objects in mirrors”, US Arabic…)
- Special laser etching upon request
- One side or double side shatterproof tape
Thicknesses
Two standard thicknesses: 2 and 3 mm.
